Clean Out Your Closet for Lisa's Hope Chest

Don't you need to clean out your closet? Chances are as the seasons change, you'll find yourself with some clothes that don't fit your frame or style anymore. What if you could find someone else who could really use your old lucky suit or once-favorite skirt? Well you can, and AWC and Lisa's Hope Chest can help.

In a special Community Affairs project, AWC has an ongoing partnership with Lisa's Hope Chest, a non-profit organization provding professional clothing free of charge to financially disadvantaged men and women entering the workforce. The organization's clients are primarily working poor women and families. Through its career clothes drive, AWC provides several opportunities for you to make room in your closet for the latest fashions.

Bring your gently worn career clothes (pants, suits, blouses, skirts and accessories) to designated AWC events during the year, or take your clothing directly to Lisa's Hope Chest office.

Lisa Benson, who founded the organization, received a grant to open a location at 3110-A Manor Road (corner of Manor and Airport, upstairs -- this is in the Manor Business Park) Phone 457-0999. Their hours are Tuesday and Thursday 4:30 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Thanks for helping us help Lisa's Hope Chest and their clients! Should you have any questions, contact AWC VP of Community Affairs Erin Huddleston.
